How the 13er-Wette works
Each week Germany's state lotteries publish a coupon of 13 matches, most of them from the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. For every game you mark 1 for a home win, 0 for a draw and 2 for an away win. Note the 0: unlike most coupons, the draw isn't an X.
Tips have to be in before the deadline, usually Saturday afternoon. Results count at the end of normal time. Prizes come from a pool and are paid in four classes:

How much each class pays depends on the total staked and on how many winners share it. A round full of upsets can pay a single class-1 winner a six-figure sum; an easy round splits it many ways.

Jackpot games are chosen to be close, so even good picks miss often. The table works out your chances exactly for different levels of skill. Read across the 50% row: that's someone whose every pick is a coin flip between the two likeliest results, which is already better than most players.

The chance of each prize tier
The chance of finishing on exactly each number of correct picks. Most of the realistic money is in the lower tiers, which is why the bonuses matter more than the headline prize.

How to approach the 13er-Wette
Use the system coupon. German pools have a long tradition of system play: Bänke (one result you're confident in), Zweiwege (two results) and Dreiwege (all three). Each Zweiweg doubles the rows and each Dreiweg triples them. Count them before you play.
Bundesliga draws matter. Draws are common in the 2. Bundesliga, and missing them is the most frequent way a good coupon falls short. In close games, the 0 is often the smart second pick.

Rules worth knowing
- 1 = home win, 0 = draw, 2 = away win.
- Normal time only. Extra time doesn't count.
