How the Mega Jackpot works
Each week SportPesa picks 17 matches, mostly from the weekend's European leagues. For every game you choose 1 (home win), X (draw) or 2 (away win), and each line costs KSh 99. Get all 17 right and you win the jackpot, shared equally with anyone else who did the same. Get 12 to 16 right and you share that tier's bonus.
The prize starts at KSh 100 million and grows every week nobody hits 17/17, which is why it can climb so high. In August 2025 a single player won KSh 424,660,618, the largest payout in the game's history and only one of a handful of 17/17 winners since it began.
Mega Jackpot Pro: playing fewer games
Since 2023 you can also play the same card as a shorter jackpot. Each version has its own prize pool and its own bonus tiers:
| Version | Games you predict | Bonuses for |
|---|---|---|
| Pro 17 | 17 | 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 correct |
| Pro 16 | 16 | 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 correct |
| Pro 15 | 15 | 10 to 14 correct (check the current list) |
| Pro 14 | 14 | 10, 11, 12, 13 correct |
| Pro 13 | 13 | 10, 11, 12 correct |
Fewer games means a far better chance of a perfect card, but a much smaller prize. Each game you drop roughly doubles to triples your chance of hitting every result.
Your real chances
Jackpot games are chosen to be close, so even good picks miss often. The table works out your chances exactly for different levels of skill. Read across the 50% row: that's someone whose every pick is a coin flip between the two likeliest results, which is already better than most players.
| Your picks are right… | All 17 right | 12+ right (any prize) |
|---|---|---|
| A blind guess (33%) | 1 in 129,140,163 | 0.19% (1 in 533) |
| 40% per pick | 1 in 5,820,766 | 1.06% (1 in 94) |
| 50% per pick | 1 in 131,072 | 7.17% (1 in 14) |
| 55% per pick | 1 in 25,932 | 14.7% (1 in 6.8) |
| 60% per pick (very strong) | 1 in 5,908 | 26.4% (1 in 3.8) |
The chance of each prize tier
The chance of finishing on exactly each number of correct picks. Most of the realistic money is in the lower tiers, which is why the bonuses matter more than the headline prize.
| Correct | At 50% per pick | At 60% per pick |
|---|---|---|
| 17 of 17 (jackpot) | 0.00076% | 0.017% |
| 16 of 17 | 0.013% | 0.19% |
| 15 of 17 | 0.10% | 1.02% |
| 14 of 17 | 0.52% | 3.41% |
| 13 of 17 | 1.82% | 7.96% |
| 12 of 17 | 4.72% | 13.8% |
What doubles and triples cost

|---|---|---|---|
| Singles only | 1 | KSh 99 | 1 in 131,072 |
| 1 double | 2 | KSh 198 | 1 in 81,920 |
| 2 doubles | 4 | KSh 396 | 1 in 51,200 |
| 3 doubles | 8 | KSh 792 | 1 in 32,000 |
| 5 doubles | 32 | KSh 3,168 | 1 in 12,500 |
| 7 doubles | 128 | KSh 12,672 | 1 in 4,883 |
| 10 doubles | 1,024 | KSh 101,376 | 1 in 1,192 |
| 1 triple | 3 | KSh 297 | 1 in 65,536 |
| 3 triples | 27 | KSh 2,673 | 1 in 16,384 |
| 2 doubles + 1 triple | 12 | KSh 1,188 | 1 in 25,600 |
| 3 doubles + 2 triples | 72 | KSh 7,128 | 1 in 8,000 |

How to approach the Mega Jackpot
Be clear about what you're playing for. The tables above show it plainly: even a strong tipster landing 60% of picks hits 17/17 about once in 5,900 tickets. A bonus is a realistic target; the full jackpot is a lottery prize. Decide your weekly budget with that in mind.
Spend your doubles where they matter. A double is worth most on the closest games, where the bookmaker's prices for two results are near each other. Covering a heavy favourite with a double wastes money: you were already likely to be right. A quick way to rank the 17 games is by the favourite's chance. Look the matches up on our predictions pages, where every game has its home, draw and away percentages, and spend doubles on the ones where no result is above about 45%.
Respect the draw. Jackpot cards are built from evenly matched games, and in close games the draw lands far more often than people pick it. A card with no draws on it at all is usually a weaker card.
Think about the Pro versions. If your aim is a payout rather than a headline, the 13 and 14-game versions turn a near-impossible card into a long but real shot, with bonuses from 10 correct.
Check the line count before you pay. Five doubles is 32 lines, KSh 3,168. Three triples is 27 lines, KSh 2,673. Use the jackpot calculator before you submit.
Rules worth knowing
- Results count after 90 minutes plus added time. Extra time and penalties don't count.
- Prizes are shared. The jackpot and every bonus tier are split equally between the winners of that tier, so the same 15/17 can pay very differently from one week to the next.
- Combination limits. Doubles on up to 10 games, triples on up to 5, and up to 10 games covered in total when you mix them.
- Postponed or abandoned matches. The operator's terms decide how a game that isn't played is settled. Read them before you play, because it decides whether a postponement helps or hurts your card.
- Tax. Kenya taxes betting winnings, and the operator deducts it before paying out. Check the current rate.
