"A prize" means the jackpot or any bonus tier. Each guide has the full rules, the bonus tiers, what doubles and triples cost and how the chances change with your skill.
How a football jackpot works
A jackpot is a coupon of matches chosen by the operator, usually between 13 and 17. You predict the result of every game, normally 1 (home win), X (draw) or 2 (away win). Get them all right and you win the top prize, usually shared with anyone else who did. Most jackpots also pay bonuses for getting nearly all of them right, and for most players those bonuses are the realistic prize.
You can cover more than one result on a game. A double covers two results and doubles the price of the ticket; a triple covers all three and triples it. The cost multiplies with every one you add: five doubles is 32 lines, three doubles and three triples is 216.
Why jackpots are so hard to win
Every game has to be right, so the chances multiply together. And operators pick close, evenly matched games on purpose, so most picks are little better than a coin flip:
| Games on the card | Blind guessing | 50% per pick | 60% per pick |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 1 in 59,049 | 1 in 1,024 | 1 in 165 |
| 12 | 1 in 531,441 | 1 in 4,096 | 1 in 459 |
| 13 | 1 in 1,594,323 | 1 in 8,192 | 1 in 766 |
| 14 | 1 in 4,782,969 | 1 in 16,384 | 1 in 1,276 |
| 15 | 1 in 14,348,907 | 1 in 32,768 | 1 in 2,127 |
| 17 | 1 in 129,140,163 | 1 in 131,072 | 1 in 5,908 |
| 20 | 1 in 3,486,784,401 | 1 in 1,048,576 | 1 in 27,351 |
Each extra game makes a perfect card two to three times less likely. That's why 13-game jackpots are won many times a year while 17-game jackpots can go months without a winner.
How to play smarter
- Play for the bonuses. They're the realistic target; treat the top prize as a bonus on top.
- Put doubles on the closest games, where two results are almost equally likely, not on heavy favourites.
- Give the draw its due. Close games end level far more often than people pick them.
- Look every game up first. Our predictions show the chance of each result for every match we cover.
- Count the cost before you pay with the jackpot calculator.
- Set a budget and treat a jackpot ticket like a lottery ticket, not income.
Avoiding jackpot scams
No one can sell you the results of a jackpot. Be wary of anyone who:
- offers "leaked", "fixed" or guaranteed jackpot results, for a fee or not;
- shows screenshots of past wins with no record you can check;
- asks you to pay quickly through WhatsApp, Telegram or mobile money for a "VIP" slip;
- claims a success rate no one could have.
Honest analysis can improve your picks a little. It can't promise a win.
Other jackpots
Several other operators run football jackpots, among them Betika's Sababisha, Odibets, Mozzartbet and Betway in East Africa, and the Totocalcio, Loto Foot and Football Pools coupons in Europe. Their formats change often and the published details don't always agree, so we haven't written guides for them yet. The jackpot calculator works for any of them: choose "Other jackpot" and enter the number of games and the price.
