Over/under 2.5 goals is about the total number of goals in the match, from both teams added together.
- Over 2.5 wins with three or more goals (3-0, 2-1, 2-2 and so on)
- Under 2.5 wins with two goals or fewer (0-0, 1-0, 1-1, 2-0)
Why ".5"?
The half goal means there is never a push. A match cannot finish with 2.5 goals, so every bet is either won or lost.
What drives goals
- Attack against defence. A side that scores freely playing one that concedes freely is the classic over spot.
- Game state. Teams that must win, such as late in a cup tie, take more risks.
- League style. Some leagues average far more goals than others, so compare like with like.
Reading our number
